PE and Sport

PE and Sport in Baildon Church of England

At Baildon Church of England Primary School we believe PE & Sport play an important role in making our vision statement a reality for every pupil, with the potential to change young people’s lives for the better.

Similar to all schools, we receive the additional Sports Premium annually to support the development of PE and Sport in school. The purpose of this premium is to make additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport for the benefit of all pupils to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles.

Baildon Church School have been fantastic over the past 4 years engaging the school with the club... supporting events... coaches....supporting the club in whatever we have looked to do in growing rugby in the community.Robbie Hill, Baildon Rugby Club

We use this resource to ensure we see an improvement against the five key indicators:

  • The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – kick-starting healthy active lifestyles
  • The profile of PE and sport being raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement
  • Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
  • Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
  • Increased participation in competitive sport

As a school, we are part of the Beckfoot Sports Partnership and through this compete in competitions locally in a range of sports including Football, Cricket, Rugby, Hockey, Boccia, Tennis and Indoor Athletics. We also have a commitment to running in the school and compete in numerous Cross Country competitions at all age groups from Year 3 upwards.

Grateful for all the children that you send... wish more schools in Bradford would do what you have done.Janet Pearson, Bingley harriers

We are particularly proud of the manner in which our children represent school and of the many successes which the school has achieved over the years.
